Isla Gomez

We had a great time at this anchorage staying 3 nights. We explored the beaches and did some diving which was not very impressive because of poor visibility and no fish.
We had a beach party on St Patrick’s Day- it was pretty coincidental when we discovered a sign pointing to Dublin 4446 km. A tree had grown around the sign so apparently it has been here for a while. A monstrous plywood cat boat joined the anchorage. A dive charter from Panama City the men were wearing speedo and crew cuts. I suspected they were eastern block citizens and I was not far off. They were Russians who had just flown in from Moscow. What a long trip. They traveled to Panama to look for hammerhead sharks.
We really enjoyed our stay here meeting a group of cruisers all going the same way. It looks like we will be seeing a lot of these guys and maybe even transiting the Canal together
