Bahia Herradura

Islas Tortugas to Bahia Herradura.
We decide to shoot for Quepos rather than check in at Puentarenas we are anxious to get to Panama. We will try to check in at Quepos and travel illegally until we get there. We have our yellow flag up to demonstrate that we have not checked in yet and hope for the best. Who knows what lies ahead?
Shortly after leaving we ran into engine trouble. I am learning to hate those pesky new noises that warrant investigation. It turns out only a belt is loose, an easy fix however, we have to shut down to fix it. I suggest we return to anchor to do this as a reef is close by and working on the boat in a swell sucks.
After a quick swim the boat is on its way. We enjoy setting sail and decide to put out the fishing rods. Chantal starts jumping around flapping her arms about because we hooked something. I am instantly reminded of her as a toddler; absolutely busting at the sight of candy. She just looses it!
Much to our disappointment our big fish ended up to be a bucket. No fish tonight.
The Herradura Bay (Horseshoe) is wide and open to swell.
We enter the bay for a look around and are amazed at the number of power fishing yacthts at the marina. Hatteras, Vikings and Bertram million dollar varieties tied up at the marina. Hundreds of them.
At Los Suenos Marina and resort they want 40 bucks to land your dingy or 3 bucks a foot to tie up at the marina. We opt to anchor near the lee of an island nearby and enjoy a day of snorkeling. The water is not very clear and the swell makes it a little dangerous. We manage to see a variety of angel fish and parrot fish.
The girls dive off of the archway on the back of the boat and collect rocks for "frankie" the tortuga’s new habitat. The turtle is out growing is plastic palm tree habitat.
I fight with them to focus on school as we are getting further and further behind.
It’s a loosing battle.
I decide to put up the white flag.
